How We Got Started:
In August of 2000 Carol got Jax as a 7 week old pup to start training him in obedience
and to compete in obedience trials. Jax did very well, but always wanted to sniff all the
scents in the ring. At one trial in August of 2002 some people approached her about
search and rescue. Her and Bill took Jax to check it out and have been involved every
since.
Sasha was given to them in August of 2005. Sasha had been purchased by some
people from a breeder. At the age of 8 months they decided they didn't want her anymore
because she was too active. Bill and Carol went and got her and have loved her and
enjoyed every since. Sasha has proven to love search and rescue learning what is
required of her and catching on VERY quickly!!
Both dogs are trained in tracking, evidence and water recovery and are certified in
wilderness and human remains.
Bill and Carol are two of the founding members of True North K9 Search and Rescue.
You will find a link to that website in this page.
Since then Bill and Carol have attended numerous classes and seminars. See below
